About this Class
This 3-hour workshop explores the freedom of digital sketching on phones and tablets. Discover anew, where you can watercolor over oils, move your sketch on top of the paint, and then turn it off, and the freedom of infinite undo.

- Hardware and Software overview: Devices, stylus, and Apps
- Layering techniques, including gridding, composition and color studies
- Fundamentals: range of tools, brush sizes, and composition
- Building new creative habits by spotting sketchable moments.

Collin Douma is a visual artist practicing near Woodstock, NY. He works in most visual media, including sculpture, illustration, animation, printmaking, and digital media. He has exhibited across Canada, the US, and the EU. Recent work explores environmental and social themes with eco-surrealism. His digital sketchbook was shown at the Sketchbook Gallery at Jane St. in Saugerties earlier this summer, an exhibition that inspired this workshop.

About this Class
Join painter Melanie Delgado for a 3 hour workshop at the Jane Street Art Center in Saugerties, NY.
This workshop will introduce participants to the brand new R&F Drawing Oils. We will start with a variety of mark making exercises to get comfortable creating abstract marks. Delgado will share her experience as an abstract painter and demonstrate her techniques for getting started and possibilities for a resolved work of art.
Participants will learn how to:
- Warm up and make new marks on paper
- Keep the flow going throughout the process
- Use R&F Drawing Oils and Pigment Sticks
- Draw with paint
- Paint with oil paint
- Find the joy in your own unique marks
- Gain confidence to continue painting

Melanie Delgado (b.1977) was born and raised in New Jersey. She has lived in many places, most notably Philadelphia, Maryland and California. In 2014 she moved from San Diego, California to Upstate New York where she has found a home and a sense of place, with deep ties to her community. Delgado has been a painting instructor at the Woodstock School of Art since 2015 and has most recently been the exhibition curator for Maiden Lane Gallery in Kingston, New York. Carving out time in her studio between teaching at the Woodstock School of Art and raising a daughter, she continues to piece together works taking on Motherhood, Fear and Doubt. Her collection is imbued with Determination, Confidence and Love.

Tryst is creating a fully immersive experience with costumes and music with different themes each month. Sign up for this class on our website. About Tryst La Noir
Tryst aka Tryst La Noir is a Singer/Songwriter, Burlesque Artist and DJ in the Hudson Valley! She is the creator of Strangehouse Events and produces a bi-monthly Burlesque and Cabaret night at The Colony in Woodstock that features performers from all creative walks of life including Burlesque, Sideshow Performances, Pole and Aerial Arts, and more! She is a musician and singer/songwriter at heart and loves to express herself through visual arts and dance, combining burlesque elements to her music and videos. She takes inspiration from old 40s Noir films, David Lynch, and embraces the beauty of darkness. When she performs and DJs she loves to create an immersive atmosphere that pulls you in and takes over your mind, body and soul! She is getting ready to release her third album this year!
